FESTIVAL COMPETITION

The AHC Festival Competition is open to students of all ages who have purchased a FULL REGISTRATION for the festival. Competition repertoire is divided into three categories with all selections playable on either a pedal or a lever harp. Both pieces listed must be played - in the intermediate category, only one of the Haikus should be played. Participants have the option to perform the required repertoire with music or from memory before a panel of two professional harp adjudicators, and these performances will be open to all festival attendees. Prizes will be awarded for first place in each category, and all participants will receive a gift certificate to the Atlanta Harp Center. In addition to their prizes, all competition winners will be invited to perform on the Sunday afternoon concert. The competition is limited to four harpists per category and acceptance is based on the order in which registrations are received. PLEASE NOTE: Participants must provide their own instruments.
